About Us

Our Story

Urban Futures is a youth-led movement dedicated to transforming food systems through innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. Our initiative empowers young agripreneurs, connects farmers to markets, and pioneers climate-smart agricultural solutions to create a more resilient and inclusive food ecosystem.

Established in 2023, Urban Futures has trained over 500 youth and facilitated market access for more than 1,000 farmers through our AgriConnect Hub. We recognize that sustainable food systems require collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and access to cutting-edge agricultural technology. Through our work, we aim to bridge the gap between urban farming and modern agribusiness.

Why Choose Chongwe

Chongwe was chosen for its agricultural significance, supplying 77% of Lusaka’s food, and its potential for growth, with an anticipated population surge in the next 15 years. By engaging youths aged between 10-35 and diverse stakeholders, the project seeks to stimulate local innovation, reduce emissions through sustainable agriculture production, and create green jobs.
